I haven't tried it, but my imagination has produced this hilarious interaction with Hard Crafting where the ore comes out as plates, but you still get nuggets, dirt, and gravel. The rich ore patches still make rich ore, so why would you ever mine it? (LOL!) On a more serious note, a mod which successfully makes changes to all mod ores is the 0.14 version of SJT Dirty Ores. Unfortunately, the relatively simple port of it to 0.16 disables most of Bob's ore spawning, probably by accident.
