Can we get the ability to place down more tiles in the void area within the vehicle spaces, akin to Mobile Factory's implimentation of internal expansion? This mod is a perfect no-frills replacement for Mobile Factory and best of all works on most/all vehicles, but lacking internal space for expansion makes building a coherent single-surface internal factory infeasible.

Can try when my internet is stable (just moved) and I have time. I'll have to reference what method Mobile Factory uses for its expandable lab tiles, and go from there.
