Miner UPSGrade

by Kingdud

Yet another big miner. The goal was to preserve the mining rate, pollution, and energy usage of 25 beaconed (8-per) miners crammed into a single monolithic building. Arguments can be made that it's slightly faster, searches too large an area for ore, etc, but the reality is, it's good enough. This mod, as with most of my other mods, exists to save UPS via reduced entity count while being as non-cheaty as possible.

Mining

g Underwhelming Performance

I don't get it. Mining Speed is 3.6, that's nowhere near 25 mining drills.
It also costs loads of beacons to build, but is slower then unbeaconed mining drills?
What am I missing?

This was one of the first UPSgrade buildings I created. It used an older idea that I fell out of love with in my later UPSgrade mods. The older idea was: "To build 25 miners with 8 beacons each takes 25 * 4 + 8 = 108 beacons, but to surround the larger miner with beacons only requires 32 beacons, so the recipe needs to take the remaining 76 beacons + modules + etc to build!" With 32 beacons around the miner, it will have the correct speed, power, and pollution for 25 miners.

With the newer UPSgrade buildings, I decided that having to make a perimeter of beacons around the outside of a building just didn't make sense (especially for ASIFs), and make you supply all the beacons in the recipe, then disable beacon effects on the resulting building.

In the newest update I brought this mod in line with my other UPSgrade mods, all modules/beacons are internal, so the base item is now flatly better than 25 beaconed miners.
