Hard coding the names of the technologies you add upgrades to is potentially unsafe.
Some mods may be adding more intermediate tiers, and if they function as leveled technologies, it can cause issues.
Some mods can wipe the upgrade techs entirely and remake them from scratch (I think k2 does this), which would mean that your changes are lost.
