Can it uncompact factory (to upgrade machines, add modules etc)?

Also some GUI would be nice...

Can you use liquids inside it?

Can you compact solar panels and accumulators?

Can you nest compacted factories?

You can simply mine the MPF to get everything back, and build a new one.

Also some GUI would be nice...
I'm not good at doing that, maybe later. It will be nice if you could help.

Can you use liquids inside it?
Yes, as long as you do not have net liquid input. net output liquid is allowed but will be wasted.

Can you compact solar panels and accumulators?
So far it will not consume energy, so there is no need to do so. Will be fixed in the later version, but I don't think I will take electricity generating entities into account.
Can you nest compacted factories?
No. What the mod do is use a script to remove and put staff in a container to simulate the production process, and it won't be capatured by the monitoring function.

Sorry - i am not a programmer myself, so aside from being able to fine tune mods, i am pretty useless in modding on this level:(

It could be a fun idea to save a blueprint of compacted factory with the entities. So while uncompacting you get all items back AND the blueprint of how it worked. Ideally you will have to ghost it on land - and then MPF would vanish with auto building blueprint... but that is too much to ask probably....

I would guess kuxynator is very good with modding and GUIs - but he is probably too busy with his own projects :(

I love the solution you proposed, but saddly it seems that there is no api for mod to create a blueprint in certain area. A blue print contains so many info, so it is too hard for me to write a script to detect all that staff ..

there are other mods to copy from (as far as the license allows it),
https://mods.factorio.com/mod/factorissimo-2-notnotmelon
creates bluprint fom inside the factory
and there is guaranteed a function that does that.

Thank you for let me know that. I'm not familiar with facorioissimo. It seems that we should copy the function they used in create the blueprint of the whole room?
