any chance for update?

Anyone?

Lol, are you asking someone else to update your mod? Linked belts are vanilla, but editor only, so it should be really easy.

EMeindertsma please update the mod.
There are many collaboration, but I haven't time to update all mods in the short time.

9 months ago

@darkfrei I uploaded the mod to Github so that contributions from all the collaborators can easily be tracked.

Also, is there a reason that there are this many collaborators? I saw that Cordina is still kind of active at least, but the others seem not be active.

Just wanna let you know that you are life savers for this mod.

@darkfrei I've managed to get a minimal working version for 2.0. It's on GitHub.
Since my holiday officially ends next week, I might not work on it anymore for a while, and so I've invited you as collaborator to the repository. Anyone is of course free, and encouraged, to submit pull requests and open issues.

The mod works for base 2.0, but the graphics are bugged, I think this is because Factorio 2.0 regards all graphics as HR. I haven't updated the definitions for any prototypes that are not used in base 2.0.

Also, there is way too much duplicate code in the mod; I think it should be possible to make it procedural so that it generates linked belts for any tier that has undergrounds, just copy the graphics that are already defined, and change the tint slightly.

@EMeindertsma
Thanks! Yes, the mod ca be better, just by making common function an list of mods with entities to apply.
I have not very big experience with github, is it possible to publish from it to the mod portal?

I'm not sure how to publish directly from Github to the mod portal (you would need to write some script to do it I think), but you can download a zipped version if you click on the green "code" button, and then upload that on the mod portal after renaming it (check if Factorio will load it first). I mostly fixed the bugged graphics. There's only a minor bug now when the entry/exit of the linked belt is pointing up/northwards.

I've tested the mod with Factorissimo 3, and it works, but couldn't test with the other mods, as none of them have updated yet.
Edit: I haven't tested with Space Age, as I haven't bought that yet.

@darkfrei
I found a plugin to automate publishing to the mod portal from Github, but I don't think I'll be using it, as my current workflow is working well for me.
(I work on the mod locally, and when I finish a version I write the changelog, and then push everything to GitHub (I don't push earlier, as then I forget the changes or mess up the changelog), then zip the folder and do some final testing locally before uploading the mod to the mod portal.)
But that workflow won't work well for bigger mods I think, or if working together with more people.
