Just a little suggestion: change the appear of poles to poles whit a upside down small lamp (the same game laps). This way, the appear should be better.
I guess you are talking about the entity sprites.
Adding a sprite layer for the lamp that looks good on all poles, including those added by other mods, is impossible.
