Pumping from the start is very overpowered and drops all usefulness of bodies of water/lava/ect.
Why not add a technology to gradually unlock these features, using tech-bottles from every planet!
That way we'll have time to utilise original function of pumping from shores and later, with the research done, we can pump anywhere.

In theory, this should be possible to accomplish with some simple checks when the player places the pump. I will take a look sometime this weekend when I have time. Thanks for the great suggestion! I will reply to this thread with any updates regarding this feature.

Maybe have it as an optional setting? Sometimes it's nice to just not have to worry about that and it offers a different kind of playstyle
