I have made some changes:
The turret starts aiming at a range of 45, but only shots at a range of 28. This is to balance the slow rotation speed.
I also tweaked the damage bonus per shot slightly down. From a flat 1.6 to 1.5.
The turret is very effective in a continues defense line, but still helpless in close combat.
For best performance I would recommend a mix of basic turrets and long range turrets, to combine burst DPS and good range.

This adds a mid tech turret, something between the basic gun turrets and lasers.
Compared to gun turrets:
- Higher range (but cannot shoot enemies in melee range)
- Very slow turret traverse (walls and chokepoints are recommended)
- Lower rate of fire, but more damage per bullet (higher ammo efficiency)
- Slightly lower overall DPS (Still much higher than laser turrets)
- More HP
- Requires Green Science and Stee
