After updating the game via Steam, the mod does not work properly, the speed does not change from the map scale and remains always high. I removed the mod and reinstalled it, but it didn't work. I let myself be killed in order to be reborn, the mod completely stopped working.

I have tested it with the newest version of Factorio, together with some of my favorite mods .

Maybe you have installed a mod which itself changes the running speed?
Does the extra zoom work? (Zooming Reinvented)

After installing a few mods, the running speed was constant for me. I don't know the reason.
This workaround did help: change a few values in user settings for Zooming Reinvented / Kux Running
