g tar sand and gas and hydrogen

hellow, amazing mod ^^

would it be possible to have a setting at the begining of the map to set the rarity scale and richness of the tar sand, natural gas and hydrogen ? and maybe having ways to synthesise hydrogen like in the mod hydrogen revolution ( where you can use 800°C heat to crack water into H2) or maybe compatibility to use their hydrogen ?

i would love to fidle with tar sand patches, well, because i like tar sand complexity and bitumen valorisation ^^ AND SULFUR for explosives ^^

about sulfur, maybe having a way to "purifies" coal into carbons and sulfur ? i have huge needs of explosive ^^

Tar sand and natural gas are resources, so they already do. Hydrogen is not a resource, so it doesn't.

I have a water electrolysis recipe made in the chemical plant.

I don't think a recipe that purifies coal into carbon and sulfur is terribly relevant to this mod.

i don't see a parameter to change the scales and stuffs od tar sand, is it directly linked to oil parameter ?

yes but it's like the scale doesn't change the size of the tar sands patches, i can put 6 miners on it maximum, and there is lot's of thoses tiny patches around the place.

about coal and sulfur, in real life, after gaseification they extract sulfur content post process but as the gaseifier in this mod can burn any thing, i think it would be better to just separate carbon from sulfur before burning ( or making the gasified gas able to be processed for sulfur separation, even if it come from wood or any other low sulfur content ????? or making a special gasifier syngas for when you use high sulfur fuels ? but then what about pollution calculation? because if the sulfur is in the syngas, the gasifier should'nt emit pollutions, heck, technicaly syngas contain all the pollutants that need to be separated to then be used or released in the evironement ( like CO2 )

  • i get a problem, maybe it's a mod conflict about water ratios, but when i am doing hydrogen sulfide to sulfur and water, i get more water than what the natural gas whole loops chains consumme ( for steam productions )

Back in 1.1 the patches were really big and sprawly. But they were made that way by someone else, and I don't know how to replicate it in the new system, and already spend a few hours just trying stuff to figure it out.

I have 0 interest in trying to fiddle with resource spawning, because the documentation is essentially non-existent, and I already tried for a few hours with no noticeable change for any of the parameters I tried.

So unfortunately, what's here is what we get, unless/until someone else is able to figure out the system and document it enough.

As for the whole sulfur thing, this is still a game. By necessity, things are simplified. Syngas is intended as an "easy" sink to dump excess fluid into to recycle it back into other fluids. Either to balance the refinery, or just wholesale balance your entire refinery around syngas.

For the steam thing, yes. You get more water because you're reacting the hydrogen in the hydrogen sulfide with the air.

i played a bit with natural gas, it got me plenty of sulfur, it's like i have too much, so well, sulfur assisted plastic it is ^^

for the coal thing, yeah, you right, it's just a game, i was just scared that i would not have enough sulfur, because it's a by product not synthetisable like plastic chain of production with syngas and stuffs
