Item Giver Gui 3

Item Giver Gui 3 is an unofficial community continuation of the original Item Giver Gui, updated for Factorio 2.1.

It adds a compact in-game interface for quickly finding items and adding them to, or removing them from, your inventory.

Open the GUI, search for an item, choose the amount and quality, and press Give or Remove.

Features

  • Fast item search with autocomplete suggestions
  • Give items directly to your inventory
  • Remove items from your inventory
  • Select item quality
  • Filter by common item types
  • Optionally show hidden item prototypes
  • Sort search results
  • Per-player interface suitable for multiplayer
  • Configurable keyboard shortcut

Expanded Item Search (Beta)

Version 3.0.1 introduces an optional experimental search mode for players who would like to help test improved item searching.

By default, Item Giver Gui continues to search using Factorio's internal item prototype names.

When Expanded item search (Beta) is enabled, the search can match both:

  • Internal prototype names, such as iron-plate
  • The translated item names displayed in your current game language

The expanded search is also case-insensitive and can sort results using translated item names when available.

This feature is currently considered Beta because it needs testing with different languages and larger mod combinations.

It is disabled by default and can be enabled per player under:

Settings → Mod settings → Per player → Expanded item search (Beta)

The option can be enabled or disabled while playing without restarting the game.

When disabled, the mod uses the original prototype-name search implementation.

Feedback and bug reports are very welcome.

Controls

Open or close Item Giver Gui with:

Shift + Enter

Alternative shortcut:

Shift + Numpad Enter

The shortcut can be changed under:

Settings → Controls → Mods → Toggle Giver Gui

How to Use

  1. Press Shift + Enter to open the GUI.
  2. Enter part of an item name.
  3. Select the desired item from the search results.
  4. Enter the quantity.
  5. Select an item quality.
  6. Press Give or Remove.

With the normal search mode, item searches use Factorio's internal prototype names.

With Expanded item search (Beta) enabled, translated item names can also be used.
