This mod was designed to be part of my Space Age Overhaul mod, but can be played separately without issue.

Main features

  • Quality modules are much more potent
  • Recyclers can no longer benefit from them
  • Higher quality tiers get harder and harder to reach
  • (added with 2.1) : disables 2+ quality tier upgrades in a single quality step. Streamlines quality lines as you no longer have to consider all possible qualities in output. You can remove this behavior in mod settings.

These changes favor “upstream quality” production lines to get epics/legendary (such as uncommon ores > rare plates > epic circuits and intermediates with max productivity > legendary end product) rather than brute forcing your way crafting / recycling hundreds of items like in vanilla.

Additional tweaks

To fully support the changes, I added the following tweaks :

  • prod modules 3 now require carbon fiber instead of biter eggs
  • holmium plates are directly smelted from ore rather than from a liquid
  • most plates can now be recycled into ore, allowing you to set up "enrichment loops" (at a steep cost)
  • concrete and steel recycling recipes got a speed boost
  • slightly reduced the plastic amount resulting from LDS recycling. You cannot use a few legendary plastic bars to get infinite legendary steel/copper on vulcanus as in vanilla, sorry !

This mod may reduce a bit the appeal of Fulgora, so the planet receive the following buff : the odds of getting a LDS structure from scrap recycling is doubled. This make it a rather good location to produce the utility science pack on top of the electromagnetic one.
