Yep. The standard personal laser turret uses around 2.5x the power of a normal laser turret. If I did that with the already insane GPL power requirements it would be completely impossible to power the personal GPL for more than a handful of shots.

isnt it kinda out of whack with it using 1.84MJ vs standard personal laser using only 50kj tho? i dont mind it using more power, but the difference seems a bit off

The default Laser Turret is 800kj per shot, and it shoots once every 40 ticks (1.5 shots/second). 800 * 1.5 = 1.2MW, which is the default (non-bonused) energy consumption of the turret.

The GPL fires every 6 ticks (10 shots/second) but each shot also does more damage (46 vs 20). 46/20 = 2.3 * 800kj = 1.840 MW per shot * 10 shots/second = 18.4 MW energy consumption. 1MW = 1MJ.

Edit: I need to read. You were talking about the personal laser turret, which is more efficient than a normal laser turret, for some reason. My bad.

You have a valid point. The personal laser users 50kj per shot and does 30dmg with it versus the normal laser turret doing 20dmg with 800kj. I was using 20/800 for both turrets. I've uploaded a new version which recomputes the personal laser turret with 30/50. It's hilariously more energy effective now.

Doh. Sorry. There was a 50x multiplier on there for my personal game I forgot about. I've removed and replaced the version...for you, that basically means you need to delete the mod entirely and re-add it. There were only 2 downloads, one of those is an anti-virus scan, so I think you're the only person who got the 50x version. My bad.

The 50x thing basically made one turret have the same power/damage/etc as 50 turrets.

A year late, but on the note of the 50x thing, apparently you left in that multiplier on the recipe, since it costs 50 laser turrets and 1000 walls to make one gatling turret.
