Factory Search

Search your factory for items, fluids, entities, signals, tags and more with Shift + F. Displays a list of matching buildings: clicking on a result opens it in the map. Supports Space Exploration (works across all surfaces). Control + Shift + Click on almost anything (e.g. built entity, inventory item, recipe) to open the search with that item selected. b [Not-a-bug] Insane Multiplayer Lag

I am running a "heavily" modded (Space Exploration + Krastorio 2 + LTN + Other quality of life mods) game right now on my small home server. Decided to give this mod a try, and the game instantly became unplayable (instant character lag followed up by a disconnect on game join).

I've tried spinning up the server on my PC (Ryzen 5800x), and I did not get the disconnects, but the player input lag is insane.

The worse part is, that if the map is saved with the mod enabled, it becomes laggy forever, meaning, disabling the mod won't help, and the only way to fix the lag is to disable the mod and rollback the save to a time, where the mod was not present.

TLDR:
- Singleplayer works fine
- Multiplayer: Small server (2Ghz, 2.7Ghz boost) = instant disconnect
- Multiplayer: Powerful server (Ryzen 5800x, OC 5Ghz) = no disconnects, but huge input lag
- Multiplayer: If the map is saved with mod enabled, disabling the mod won't help to remove lag
- Multiplayer: Only disabling the mod + rolling back the save helps

I really hope this is something fixable, the mod looks great!

Hello,
Thanks for your interest and detailed experiments. This is very unexpected to hear because this mod should have no impact when its features are not in use (though you can expect it to freeze the game for a couple of seconds whenever you start a search on lategame bases...). I'm honestly not sure where to start with debugging this... is it UPS issues that it is causing, or just input/network lag? If it is UPS then you can press F4 and enable show-time-usage to confirm that it is Factory Planner. But it sounds like that isn't the problem...
Presumably the 'corrupted' saves still work perfectly in single player?

I'll try and get my second local instance working so I can test multiplayer myself.
Feel free to reach out to me on discord (TomB#1249) as it might be easier to discuss this there?

For anyone wondering, we investigated and concluded that this doesn't have anything to do with Factory Planner.

Yup, turned out to be just a very well-timed coincidence.
