Expanded Productivity Research

by Gandave

Adds Productivity technologies for all intermediate recipes, grouped by output item, with a progression similar to mining productivity. Optionally adjusts existing techs' progression. Optionally adds productivity techs for non-intermediate recipes as well.

i [Implemented] blanket all 5dim tiers under one research

hi!! i pondered more about it and thought it was really funny and a bit annoying how i have to upgrade every instance of tiers (from mk4(?) to mk10) using 5dim. if there was some way to make it more compact and neat by blanketing it all under one upgrade for each category of item that 5dim adds excluding vanilla items like logistic/construction robots, etc. . would appreciate but it's not a hassle

ok all under one research is too big but i'd understand, i meant like one research tackles, for example, all small gun turrets so i don't have to increase their productivity individually

It's been a while since I used 5dims, but if I recall correctly, 5dim only adds finished products, not intermediates, right? Are you also using a different mod that allows productivity for all recipes? I could add a logic to catch all items that are direct improvements (e.g., all assembling machines, all miners, etc.), but I'd also need to add a setting to generate techs for non-intermediates. Which I thought about already, to be fair, I just fear it will blow up the technology screen too much for too little effect. I'll think about it.

oh, it's entirely possible, could this mod be related? https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Productivity

tested by disabling a few things especially automating, yep, that was it
assembling 1-3 stayed while the rest vanished

but support for the mod would be nice but i honestly wouldn't blame you if you didn't bother

I will definitely implement something, it's just a matter of time to also test properly. But I'm already collecting ideas. ;)

And it's there. :)
Version 1.1 includes the option to scan for non-intermediates as well, but if you use the "Productivity" mod, you don't even need that. Regardless of the setting, there is a logic to combine very similar machines or machines that are direct upgrades, like with 5dim.
