Edit Map Settings — Factorio 2.1 Fork
An updated fork of the morsk's Edit Map Settings mod, restored and adapted to work with Factorio 2.1.
This mod allows you to modify map-generation settings after a game has already started, without having to create a new save.
This fork focuses on restoring compatibility, fixing broken functionality, cleaning up parts of the original implementation, and expanding the mod where practical.
Features
-Edit map-generation settings in an existing save.
-Compatible with Factorio 2.1.
-Regenerate unexplored or selected map areas using updated settings.
-Regenerate terrain and enemy generation independently.
-Control which parts of the world are regenerated.
-Improved handling of enemy-base generation.
-Compatibility checks for settings added by other mods.
-Various bug fixes and internal cleanup.
About this fork:
The original mod was no longer functioning correctly with newer Factorio versions, so this fork updates it for Factorio 2.1 and continues development from there. All of the refactoring, investigation, fixing and changes were adone by AI.
The goal is to preserve the usefulness of the original mod while making it maintainable and useful again on current Factorio versions.
Important:
Regeneration process only works in Singleplayer, if you're playing online.
1. Backup
2. Leave session
3. Open save in singleplayer
4. Run regen and Save and exit.
5. Host online.
Changing map-generation settings does not automatically alter terrain or entities that have already been generated. Use the regeneration tools when you want existing areas to be rebuilt using the new settings.
Regeneration can make substantial changes to a save, before running regeneration mod does create backup save point automatically but it is advised to create manual backup.
