It would be very useful if the construction drones would take notice of which ghosts are allowed to be built...

Sorry, did not get notification yet.

Right now the construction drones simply start building all ghosts, regardless of whether they are marked as "constructed" or not. In other words, they don't care about your mod's functions.

Hm... Ok, so I've started to look into this a bit, but I think the fixing will need to happen on the construction drones side. Based on what I currently see, construction drones do not take into the account the ghost entity's force - they will even build ghosts of an enemy force.

Construction planner is based around creating a parallel friendly force that the ghost entities get assigned to so the construction bots would not take them into account.

So... Construction drones should really ignore anything not belonging to their own force. There is additionally a kind of a race condition that would need to be taken into the account. If you unapprove the ghosts when the drones are already dispatched, they should bail out instead of constructing the ghosts that now belong to a wrong force.

I'll try to cross-post to the other topic as well. :)

Yeah I get what you mean. Is there any way you could make a compatibility patch perhaps? It seems like Tubbles is not active anymore as his only mod (the one we reference) was updated last 2 years ago.

Err... At least for the time being, I don't think I want to pick up maintenance on another fairly complex/involved mod, to be honest. I was a big fan of construction drones back in the day, but I haven't used them much personally in last couple of plays since they kinda end-up being a bit too overpowered.

As for your troubles - there was a couple more forks of this mod, are any of them behaving better in this regard?

Have you considered switching over to Klonan's own spiritual successor - Companion Drones? (although, not sure if that one might face the same issue in combination with Construction Planner).

Ah, I was a bit worried you've already seen that one, and stuck to construction drones for visuals and nostalgia :D (I kinda still liked the drones more - a bit more janky, but also kinda cute, and more non-intrusive).

While I'm at it... Another option you might find interesting for less op early game robotics would be Early Construction. But it's really more for balancing reasons than anything else. :)
