So... I've pushed a minor bugfix/workaround release for this one (3.0.1), and it should take care of this particular issue - with the caveat that it will not work correctly with mods that do ghost revivals - when mods revive entities and signal it, in most cases it's already too late and I don't have access to the original ghost entity any longer.
There might be some other corner cases as well that I haven't covered (and most likely won't be), but at least when using the approval tool things should work correctly.
In either case, give it a go and let me know if it causes any issues.
The issue has also been reported on the forum, so we'll see what the reply is (could be also intended behaviour, although I kinda doubt it):
