b [FIXED] "Request from buffer chests" option does not get preserved during approvals/unapprovals

Hey Branko
I got another bug for you. The Buffer Chest Request checkbox is unticked when you copy/blueprint a requester chest.

. Factorio Version 1.1.107 Build 62234 win64

. This mod Version 3.0.0

. Steps to repro: Start a game and place a Requester Chest. Mark the “request from buffer chest” checkbox in the chest. Then either copy or bluprint the chest. Now make sure you have “Auto Approval” disabled(If it's enabled the bug doesn't happen). Now either place the chest by hand or mark it as approved and get a drone to do it. You will see the chest no longer requests from buffer chests.

I am yet to test it without other mods but nothing I have loaded should effect it.

I need to stop thanking people for reporting bugs...

This was trivial to reproduce locally, although... I think that at least in this particular case it might be an issue with the game engine itself. I was messing around with a plain requester chest, just changing its force back-and-forth, and looks like the setting gets lots on force change.

I'll try to double-check it with some kind of minimal test mod first (just in case), and then file it upstream.

Hm... Worst case I could implement some kind of minor workaround in the meantime that would try to correct the chest setting during force change.

Hey if you teach me how I would be happy to look into it for you :D.

I feel like it should be on by default. I struggle to think of many situations where you wouldn’t want a requester chest grabbing from a buffer.

'ello again, and thank you for the kind words :)

So... I've pushed a minor bugfix/workaround release for this one (3.0.1), and it should take care of this particular issue - with the caveat that it will not work correctly with mods that do ghost revivals - when mods revive entities and signal it, in most cases it's already too late and I don't have access to the original ghost entity any longer.

There might be some other corner cases as well that I haven't covered (and most likely won't be), but at least when using the approval tool things should work correctly.

In either case, give it a go and let me know if it causes any issues.

The issue has also been reported on the forum, so we'll see what the reply is (could be also intended behaviour, although I kinda doubt it):
