The Blueprint Designer Lab - 343N's Edit deprecated

by 343N

Enter your lab to design your blueprints. Builds off of Blu3wolf's version. Adds a toggleable 'pausing' feature for singleplayer (on by default), as well as support for using Editor Extensions items in the Lab, and a fix for a bug that stops you from breaking items in the Lab, when Space Exploration is installed. EDIT: Marking this mod as deprecated for now until I have the time to fix the bugs with it.

Enter your lab to design your blueprints

Adds a way to enter a blueprints lab so you have a test bench for your blueprints. There is unlimited item creators so you can test the build with ores and such, and free items to place your blueprints directly on the lab.

My version adds the option to "pause" the game while you're in the lab (only in single-player), making all active items inactive, as well as pausing pollution, evolution, and expansion. This setting is on by default.

This version also lets you use Editor Extensions items within the Lab if you have Editor Extensions installed. It also implements a workaround with Space Exploration, so that you can destroy items while in the lab with right-click, as Space Exploration changes the way the player controls work when you're in the Lab.

The rest of the description is copied from Blu3wolf's page entry.

Known issues:

  • The mod is incompatible with the use of the sandbox scenario : the player does not exist in the game and when you try to enter the lab it will cause an error.

  • The mod is incompatible with the usage of the ingame command /editor : if you try to enter the lab with the editor enabled you will get an error because the player gets removed. If you use the command from inside, any terrain tiles that you add wont get removed.

  • The mod is incompatible with the Brave New World Scenario: same problem as above. https://mods.factorio.com/mod/brave-new-world

  • The lab now prevents players from using the gui if there is no "body" on the player like on /editor and the Brave New World Scenario": so it does not crash the game, thanks to minno for the fix.
