Hello all,
Like most people I’m of the option that the Production Science Pack recipe needs a rebalance. I have tried all three posable production lines; concrete rails, wooden rails, and converted rails and found I can only produce about 1000 Production per hour in my Megabase, Space packs are far faster. But while exploring the files, looking to manually altering recipes, a thought occurred regarding a way of improving concrete production to compensate. IRL, concrete is poured… meaning it must start out as a liquid. The idea is like the recipe; “Crushed Stone” + “Ash” = “Stone Block”
New Fluid: Liquid Cement
Building: Chemical Plant
Recipe: “Water” + “Crushed Stone” + “Ash” = “Liquid Cement”
Building: Assembler MK2/3
Recipe: “Iron Sticks” + “Crushed Stone” + “Liquid Cement” = “Concrete”
Recipe: “Iron Sticks” + “Steel” + “Concrete” + “Liquid Cement” = “Refined Concrete”
Recipe: “Iron Sticks” + “Stone Blocks” + “Liquid Cement” = “Walls”
(All cheaper and faster than vanilla)
--Alternatively cutting out the middleman is a possibility too
Building: Assembler MK2/3
Recipe: “Iron Sticks” + “Steel” + “Crushed Stone” + “Liquid Cement” = “Rail”
Recipe: “Wooden Rail” + “Liquid Cement” = “Rail”
I purposely left out precises numbers for balancing later down the road, but the core idea is increasing production speed and cheapening cost but at the price of increased complexity.
