The only balance change I can think of is to increase power consumption considerably given a single Mk5 can scan all the map you ever need for pretty much no real cost.
Glad to hear that it is useful. I agree that it is quite cheap and am split on exactly how I want to balance it. as I was using Big brothers energy to keep it in line with his radars. I didn't really want to override his radars so I kept the scale. I might just switch the power over to an exponential scale (since the radars scan exponentially more area) and include his in that. posibaly make a basic radar that isn't affected by the research (because the cost will get big quick)
