Here is a tip which i've been using for my mods (unpublished, probably never will be): use pixlr.com/editor.

It is a photoshop esque online app with layers, tools similar to photoshop and a lot of functionality.

Heh, thank you. I actually use paint.net for my art, it's free and does what I need it to. The art dilemma is mostly in me not really being an artist, not me not having the right tools.

I have some possible contributions in the pipeline that might help though, so we'll see how that goes.
