Balances item and fluid containers (including wagons) to have more reasonable storage density. Recommended to use in combination with Wagon Quality Size.

Motivation

In vanilla Factorio, there's several problems in relation to quantities:

  • One steel chest (1x1 = 1 tile large) can store 48 stacks of any item, whereas a cargo wagon (2x6 = 12 tiles large) can store only 40 stacks of any item!
  • A cargo wagon carrying 40 stacks pales in comparison to a full stacked green belt, meaning it becomes significantly less sensible to use trains in the late game.
  • Fluid tanks however can carry two full storage tanks worth, despite being smaller.

This mod, when combined with Wagon Quality Size or another similar mod, aims to bring a more coherent and scaling feeling to both item- and liquid storage.

Item storage changes

  • Wood chest: 8 stacks (down from 16)
  • Iron chest: 16 stacks (down from 32)
  • Steel chest: 24 stacks (down from 48)
  • All logistics chests: 24 stacks (down from 48)
  • Cargo wagon: 120 stacks (up from 40) (This means 6 steel chests will fill a little more than one wagon)

Fluid storage changes

  • Storage tank: 20k (down from 25k)
  • Fluid wagon: 30k (down from 50k)
