The latest update already added some support for Corrundum. It's an option that's disabled by default in the startup settings.
The asphalt roads in this mod are created directly from vanilla materials by default, there's no actual asphalt material in this mod. The asphalt in Corrundum is an asphalt brick that can be used for crafting purposes but can't be placed down as a tile as far as I can tell.
However, if you enable Corrundum support it'll change the recipe for the roads from this mod to require 1x of Corrundum's asphalt bricks. The reason this is not enabled by default is because you are correct in saying that they have wildly different prerequisites, and having this change enabled will push Asphalt Roads into the later game. Part of my goal in updating this mod is keeping it mostly as it was by default so any large changes will be optional like this.
I haven't played with Corrundum (or even 2.0 yet, as I want to get a couple bigger modding projects into alpha before starting a new save), so I'm not 100% familiar with the mod. I've done my best to research and test how my changes work with Corrundum but if something could be improved in that regard I am open to discussing it.
