i Easier research?

Those of use using AAI programmable vehicles tend to use vehicles more heavily early on, and it makes sense to get some roads for aesthetic reasons earlier on (and hopefully to assist automation with my AAI+PDA patch). Also, I imagine some just might not want to wait for production science before building out a few roads. I suggest an option for roads with the same science pack cost of 250 as concrete but with the addition of green science.
