AluminiumX
AluminiumX introduces a more realistic aluminium processing chain into Factorio, fully integrated with Krastorio 2 and Space Age mechanics!
(The core concept, the graphics, and many features are directly ported from brevven's "bzaluminum" mod. I took this amazing original mod, adapted it, and expanded upon it with new layered icons and a much deeper K2/Space Age recipe integration.)
Key Features & Additions
- New Resource - Bauxite Ore: Mine this brand new ore from the map, serving as the foundation of your aluminium empire.
- Chemical Processing: Use Filtration Plants to extract Salt from water, then process it into Sodium hydroxide. Wash the Bauxite ore with this chemical to yield Aluminium oxide and Red sludge.
- Enrichment & Electrolysis: You can process raw Aluminium oxide directly in an Electrolysis Plant, but washing it first with sulfuric acid creates Enriched aluminium—which yields double the Aluminium powder during electrolysis!
- Smelting: Smelt the powder into lightweight yet durable Aluminium plates, and craft them into sturdy Aluminium beams.
- Red Sludge Recycling: Don't just dump your toxic byproducts! Repurpose them efficiently:
- Process with sulfuric acid to extract Iron ore and K2 Rare metals.
- Mix with sand and water to produce Landfill.
- Smelt it directly into Molten iron using Space Age foundries!
- Use it as an iron ore substitute in a new alternative Concrete recipe.
Space Age & Krastorio 2 Integration
This mod seamlessly blends into the existing tech tree, altering vanilla and modded recipes to reflect the lightweight and conductive properties of aluminium: * Alternative Low-Density Structure: Choose a new recipe to craft Low-density structures using large amounts of aluminium plates instead of copper. * Advanced Batteries: K2's Lithium-sulfur batteries now require aluminium components in their recipes due to their lightweight and conductive properties. * Space Platforms (Space Age): Launching into space requires lightweight materials. Space platform foundations and Space platform starter packs now require Aluminium beams instead of heavy steel!
