Alternate Vanilla Factorio

by gw71

Substantial changes to give a 'new game' vanilla-like experience again to those who have already launched a rocket in the base game. Meant to be played with Deathworld preset

Recipes and tech progression are quite different from vanilla, so I guess you could call this an "overhaul" mod of sorts. However, in contrast to other mods that make the game substantially more difficult, this mod is slightly easier than vanilla and is therefore meant to be played on Deathworld settings. If biters aren't your thing, a "Railworld" settings playthrough should be very easy. Reading tooltips for item/tech info like you did when playing for the first time might be a good idea, as many things have been removed/buffed/nerfed. I won't list all the changes, but some notable ones that stand out are:

-Military science feels more like 5th science along with yellow. Many military items have been removed/reworked and unlock later in the game
-Many upgrade techs have been removed. Most things given a flat buff instead
-Completely different take on modules, and some production machines are faster. Beacons removed from the game to balance
-Many container and inventory sizes reduced because cargo wagons should be much larger in comparison. Pushes automation over hand-crafting
-All science packs use ingredients that can be affected by productivity. Lots of recipe changes - prepare for spaghetti

Likely incompatible with most other mods since I have zero coding experience. This was my first ever attempt at making a mod for fun to learn a bit of coding. As such, I am not capable of doing any compatibility fixes to accommodate other mods
