There's a lot of caching on this page. It can take several hours for new mods and updates to show up in search results.
New uranium process (can be disabled in settings) Increases the amount of Uranium-238 used in several recipes because there is always too much of it. Option to require boron rods in nuclear fuel cells. IRL boron is extracted from sea water so this is replicated here. Boron rods are used to moderate nuclear fission in reactors.

This mod adds nickel processing to Nullius. An easily extracted metal, it fills in for more advanced metals when bootstrapping production. It finds ongoing use for its magnetic, heat-tolerant, and chemical properties as technology advances. Tricky old Nick makes the early game more challenging. This mod revisits the early game of Factorio and pushes the electrification a bit further back by extending the Burner-Stage and inserting a new stage: Steam-Stage (buildings will be powered by steam).

Biters now drop alien ore, which can be smelted into alien metal, which is the ingredient for alien items that are better than their vanilla counterparts.
