Zerwiport's Zoom


This mode is an overhaul of world display mechanics. The goal is to give more control and make it more productive. It defines two views: 'Character' and 'Remote'. One may switch between them and toggle their internal view modes with separate bindings.

I was the guy you advertised you mod to in the forum about zoom to cursor.
I have now gotten around to testing this and im not sure why i would use it.

While it does give me the intended behavior for the mousewheel on the map
it breaks pretty much any other zoom behavior.

It zooms way to far out in the normal view, with accompanying lag and no way to set a max (or min).
It no longer zooms from the map into radar view.

The mod is basicaly doing far too much.

Aside from these the one thing i would want is for the zoom to use mousewheel acceleration
which for some reason Factorio does not use at all.

You can create separate mod based on this solution with only the behaviour you want on the map. It proves it's possible.

I did try to remove everything but the map change but all i accomplished was to get errors or remove the ability to zoom at all.
My programming skills are close to non-existant.

Ideas:
- min and max zoom per every rendering mode
- zoom threshold for switching between world and map while zooming
- setting for zooming to the center of the screen or to the cursor
- mousewheel acceleration (may not be possible to accomplish in a mod)
