It was the same for me, and for the longest time, Eradicator's Safety Ear Muffs was on my list of essential mods. When I saw that it probably wasn't going to be updated to 2.0, I decided to create a similar mod from the ground up, one that also offered a bit more fine-grained control to the user. The code is more robust and better ensures compatibility with other mods, and it's also much more deliberate in how it searches through and modifies game data (to reduce load time and prevent potential mistakes), but the downside is that it currently only works for the most common sound categories. I can probably expand the functionality if the need ever arises, though.
Anyway, I hope you continue to enjoy the mod in 2.1 as well! Just let me know if there are any issues, or any changes you would like to see.
