Hey

Have to say nice mod and it is really funny to use

But is there an option that you can add research for more range and stack size ?
or increase the stack size to 5 maybe and the range that it can reach maybe 400 or something like that or infinity research maybe
Cause i like the drone sound and the animation and i think they are better than arty.

and with the endgame evolution mod they will get outscaled fast

this was made to scale with my "entrenched enemies" mod i was in a 1000x playthrough needing to use 2000+ turrets to remove bases due to worm range and quality made them very very tanky.

This was made as a simple solution to easily kill the bases with the cost being annoying logistics ( stack size 1 ) and a solid resource drain to produce and the range is meant to be a bridge until you get artillery so you shouldn't use it forever. My intention for 400+ range is to use artillery also thank you i had a good laugh when i used it the first time too.

im not across which evolution mod you are referring to, many have existed over the years or "tweak patches" to them.

from a game design pov it is best if you have specific niche use cases for every defensive option and have a multi layered defence. don't forget the drone turret works in space ( not sure if it should, but it does )

What exactly is out ranging drone turrets? legendary behemoth worms almost out range it but don't and that's a forcing function to start being annoying so you focus on getting arty. ( if a mod modifies the base range of worms then yeah they would out range it at legendary )

out range is not the problem or better to this game state i am in :D but stay in base and watch the army fly over the gras lands and kill the enemys :D

ok i understand the point with the stack size.
But i think range is maybe a thing for the research cause i like the drones more than the arty.

With rampage and endgame evolution the game gets realy hard.
and with smart enemies they get extra ressistence agains your used dmg so its better to have a save space and than build new defence lines.

So yea its my personal thing cause of the heavy enemy modded game .
And i dont like the arty and the sound after your mod

because this is so hyper specific to that mods unit's it would actually be more beneficial if that mod added support for this mod by adding it to some tech so you have adequate tools to handle the mods enemies.

I made my entrenched enemies mod as a replacement for rampage and endgame evolution purely because id play the same save for months until i hit UPS issues which would end the playthough and really thought about what the real challenge was, and it was running out of iron trying to get new bases ( i like to have high density average size long distances between patches ) since every new iron patch was a massive mission, having all the AI's hitting my wall in a smart way is cool and i miss it, but it tanked the UPS way too hard, so i instead inverted the problem and made the bases insanely hard to conquer once you get far away and eventually when everything hit's legendary i still wasn't off planet ( 1000x playthrough ) i was going to either die or make it purely because i could no longer advance and was just watching 1800/m science tick away to get me to space wondering if i had enough iron.

Which is why i felt i needed this drone mod to give me a way to slowly advance ( the range was purposfully only a few tiles more than a legendary behemoth worm ) and was made as an annoying logistical pain in the ass but a guaranteed way to "turret creep" extremely hard to kill bases and is meant to fulfill this very specific niche which most people won't face unless death world + 1000x + enemy bases that are insanely hard to kill.

For the mod your using where this is applicable in another niche, that other mod or a compat mod for the evolution mod should add this as an optional dependency and tune the turret range to be suitable for those kinds of enemies.

I want to take it the plays of arty cause dont know i dont like it :D

but yea the UPS is still a killer for every game .

i thought it is like in other mods to change the range not hard tbh.
I am not full in the coding matrix so its easy to say

200 would be good to as a gab closer
