Price too, to match capacity with the normal accumulator, these are more expensive.
It's designed as a companion to the Wind Turbines mod, to produce and store energy early game without the need of burning coal.
If you play with them, only use them until the moment the normal accumulator is researched, and you get oil and sulfuric acid to build them.

Why use these mods? Deathworld+ settings where keeping pollution low is critical to avoid getting overwhelmed.
(Some high difficulty deathworld games do not have oil accessible until lots of biters are killed)
