What is it really used for?

A tool to help you find out where items and fluids come from and where they are used. This is a fork of the original 'What is it used for?' by Mr Doomah, updated for newer Factorio versions and with additional features. Russian translation by Schmarotzer. Japanese translation by shiru_tan.

i [RESOLVED] Letters capitalisation

(updated 7 months ago)

Some time ago, mods started to "implement" searching of strings with mix of capital and small letters in localized strings.
Can this be implemented for this mod too?
Like now, you can search for both "хитин" and "Хитин" in character screen, factory planner, FNEI and so on. Both words are findable.
This mod can only search for "Хитин" (exact word) and do not show items if written lowercased.

PS if I am not mistaken FNEI implements this feature here:

I appreciate the suggestion, and especially linking to the specific FNEI commit.

I agree that this is a useful feature, but the way it had to be implemented in FNEI does not seem pleasant. I don't think I want to try that. If one of the factorio library mods were to offer a more convenient interface to the same functionality, then it might be more reasonable to attempt.

Hello.
This is in game feature now. Requires Factorio 2.0.67 or newer. The function is LuaHelpers::multilingual_to_lower
Bet this is as convenient as it can be:)

PS
Recipe book make it like so: https://codeberg.org/raiguard/RecipeBook/commit/b8d94eb2611bf6ab7fff6553e0d2c38495a050fc

Thanks. I've made an attempt to implement this for 1.8.0 of the mod, which just released. I don't have a way to test it myself for other alphabets, so I'd appreciate you letting me know if it's working as expected.
