If you would like to make a fix yourself before an update arrives, you can modify line 6 in the waterfreezing.lua file located within the mod archive.
categories = {"chemistry", "cryogenics"},
and set the info.json to Factorio version 2.1.
Then it will work again.
This is just a quick fix until the creator has revised the mod and addressed all the issues.
