Any chance we could give the drop down template a custom name. eg copper-ore-outpost-1

Yes, that's definitely possible, though I'm not sure if it'd be adding much value - the template applies to all stations with a given name, so the name of a station effectively names the template. (By the way, the template dropdown will be much improved in 0.17 - the icons of the wagons in the trains, instead of the current letter representations will be shown.) Is there something specific you're looking to do with this that I'm missing, like selecting the same template (by name) from multiple station names so that you can be sure they're all copying from the same source train?
