Hiya! This does work with vanilla, so some other mod is changing the firearm magazine recipe, please narrow it down to what other mod is changing the recipe in a destructive way and report back. It'll likely be something the other mod needs to handle by using the new additional_categories API property instead of changing the recipe category.
