Thanks for the idea — done in 0.1.10 (Factorio 2.0) / 0.2.10 (Factorio 2.1).
The packer now adds extra tiers, but only when their belt mod is installed:
- Hyper sushi packer — Planetaris: Arig hyper belt, 75/s. (The Hyarion mod has no belt of its own; the hyper belt comes from Arig. With Hyarion installed, the hyper belt tech moves into Hyarion's progression, and the packer tier follows it.)
- Superior sushi packer — Krastorio 2 / K2 Spaced Out superior belt, 90/s
- Ultimate sushi packer — Bob's Logistics ultimate belt, 75/s
- Ultimate Belts Space Age (5 tiers, 90–270/s) and Better Belts (96/s) — Factorio 2.0 build only, since those mods have no 2.1 release
Each tier has its own technology after the belt's technology, a chained recipe (previous box + that belt's splitter + 2 stack inserters + 2 quantum processors), and upgrade-planner support from turbo upward in belt-speed order. Box speed follows the belt's real speed, even when a mod setting changes belt speeds. The supported belt mods are listed as optional dependencies on the mod page.
