Space Age: Planetary Integration

This mod integrates additional planets into the main Space Age progression by adjusting research requirements and crafting recipes.

All features are optional and enabled by default. Each feature can be toggled independently in the mod settings.

Features

1. Cerys — Late-game Reactors

  • Moves MOX reactor and radiative heater technologies behind Promethium science pack technology.
  • Preserves their original research costs and crafting recipes.

2. Apia — Apicultural Science

Adds apicultural science packs to five technologies:

  • Biolab
  • Quantum processor
  • Fusion reactor
  • Railgun
  • Solar system edge discovery

3. Moshine — AI Research

  • Adds AI Core 10 as a prerequisite for quantum processor technology.

4. Cerys — Overclock Modules & Railgun Turrets

  • Adds 1 tungsten carbide to the overclock module recipe.
  • Requires metallurgic science pack technology before researching overclock modules.
  • Adds overclock module technology as a prerequisite for railgun technology.
  • Adds 1 overclock module to the railgun turret recipe.

Compatibility

  • Requires: Factorio: Space Age
  • Optional: Supported additional planet mods
  • Features are applied only when their corresponding mods are installed.
  • All four features can be enabled or disabled independently.

Important: Cerys Setting

You must disable the Cerys option that makes radiative heaters a prerequisite for fusion reactors when using the late-game reactor feature.

Leaving this option enabled may create a circular research dependency and block progression.

Design Philosophy

The main goal of this mod is to make additional planets an integral part of completing Space Age, rather than optional side content.

The changes follow three main principles:

  • Make additional planets part of the main progression. Their technologies and resources should be required to progress toward completing the game.
  • Preserve the challenge of vanilla planets. Avoid introducing powerful technologies or equipment that significantly reduce the difficulty of planets like Aquilo.
  • Focus on the journey to game completion. Balance beyond Promethium science, including post-game and endgame content, is not a priority.

The goal is not to make the game harder for its own sake, but to encourage players to fully explore and develop each additional planet as part of their journey through Space Age.

Development Status

This mod is currently in beta. Balance adjustments and testing are still ongoing.

It is primarily developed for a private multiplayer server with friends, so some changes may reflect our gameplay preferences.

Features and balance may change in future updates.
