The game normally draws ore patches in map view with a checkerboard pattern. This mod changes that so that they are a solid color.

A more dramatic example: you can see from the recipe icons that I have some machines on the ore patches, but I think this would render better if they were just drawn over it. https://imgur.com/cLr4Tjm
As far as I know, no. The game always draws ore patches atop machinery, that's not something I think can be altered.
