Solar Calculator

Adds a solar power calculator that can calculate how much power your solar panels provide on average. Or calculate how many panels and accumulators you need to provide the desired power. Supports modded panels and accumulators, quality and DLC planets (future Space Exploration update to 2.0 most likely won't work)

g Take Count From Surface?

(updated a month ago)

With your new updated UI for 2.0 everything looks crisp, but I cannot find a Take Count from surface. This was my favourite part of the mod and I cannot tell if it was removed, repositioned, or an oversight. If it is possible to get it back for the new quality additions, I would be very grateful.

I thought nobody really wants it because of it's flaw that it doesn't recognize different electric networks.
Well... I have an idea now, to make a selection tool which can select power poles and then with some slow Lua logic count only entities with the same electric_network_id as the selected power pole. It should be relatively easy to code, I think I'll release an updated version tomorrow.

I would often connect everything to one grid in 1.1 and SE, so having a good idea of my current panel to accumulator ratio is very helpful. From what I understand, one grid is not always viable on other planets in the DLC, so I find your qualms insightful. The qualities on panels and accumulator is the hardest thing to keep in check with power ratios, so knowing my current evaluation becomes all the more helpful. I really hope you come around to play Factorio again so that you can enjoy the fruits of your own work. I, for one, appreciate you.

Ok, done. I'm not sure how good this place is for the button, but at least it's somewhere now.

As for enjoying the fruits of my own labor, as far as I can understand, my mod is pretty much useless for the DLC. I read that all planets have much better power sources than solar farms.
My mod might be useful for Space Exploration, but... Well, I hope it'll be updated when I have time to make my mod compatible with it.
