SMRs

by dorfl

Small modular nuclear reactors designed to be deployed off-grid at remote sites. SMRs are manufactured as sealed units with a fixed energy capacity, including both fuel and generator components. This means they can be quickly setup anywhere but once depleted must be returned to base for refurbishment.

i Auto Deconstruct of SMRs

Would it be possible to code a SMR to be automatically 'marked for deconstruction' once it becomes depleted? I really like the idea of using SMRs to be the main power source for resource outputs, it just seems that it wouldn't be possible to fully automate an SMR cycle since the deconstruction is not automatic. Ideally, it would also leave a 'ghost' of a fresh SMR (of the same tier) to make the swapping out of SMRs fully automatic.

Or was this deliberate?

Seconding.

Added a startup setting (default=true) for this in 0.1.6. It uses an infrequent on_nth_tick handler so detection of depleted SMRs should be prompt but not instant.
