Smart Linked Belts
Say goodbye to spaghetti belts! Smart Linked Belts introduces a powerful, highly configurable way to transport items across your factory using the engine's native linked-belt entity. Connect inputs to outputs over any distance, around any obstacles, or even across different planets!
Key Features
- Smart Configuration GUI: Simply click on a Smart Belt to open its interface. Choose whether it acts as an Input or Output, and assign it to a specific channel using a custom text name and a signal icon (just like the circuit network).
- Visual Connectivity (ALT-mode): Never lose track of your logistics. Press
ALTand hover over any Smart Belt to reveal a glowing, semi-transparent line pointing directly to its paired connection. - Live Camera & GPS: The configuration GUI provides a live camera feed of the connected partner belt. You can also generate a clickable GPS ping in the chat to instantly move your camera to the other end.
- Tier Separation: Available in all belt tiers (Standard, Fast, Express, and Turbo). To prevent throughput bottlenecks, different tiers are strictly separated and cannot be linked together.
- Quality of Life:
- Instantly Reverse Flow with a single click in the GUI without rebuilding the belts.
- A handy dropdown history remembers your previously created channels for quick pairing.
- Hover over a belt to see a quick tooltip with its channel info and icon.
- Tech Tree Integrated: Smart Belts unlock naturally as you research standard underground belts in the technology tree.
- Customizable Range: Server admins can define a maximum connection distance in the Mod Settings (set to
0for infinite range and cross-surface/planetary connections).
