I feel like this mod would be a lot more useful if you could set a threshold for which percentage of your labs need to be missing a pack before it's counted as being missing - I have ~300 labs and they show almost permanently as out of evey pack because of the time it takes for inserters to move items through them.

yeah i admit this mod has its downsides, in fact i currently have the mod open infront of me and trying to figure out a good way to represent it all, especially with labs across surfaces and possibly a few left standing of the normal tier, to find a performant way to count them all, like what do do when all the bottles you need are in labs but spread throughout them, might just need to select a main lab so only one gets monitored, im still trying to explore options a bit, suggestions are welcome

Tbh at that point it sounds like edge cases, probably worth just picking whichever lab type / surface there's the most of or allowing you to manually config. I'm not familiar with the api (or mods/playstyles where that's usual) though so understandable if that's easier said than done. For when they're spread out that sounds like another thing that'd be best gotten around with with a threshold check - not a perfect solution but only other one I could think of is somehow checking if a lab has ever had x pack in the last y amount of time, and whether it currently has it (this just makes me wish labs had wire connections tbh).

yea it would really be so much better for everyone if labs had circuit support, reading all the inventories every few ticks with a mod is far from ideal
