g [Appreciation] This mod's existence is deeply amusing to me

Yes it is. Like who out there is offended at craptonite?

It's like. Imagine being the engineer, you have traveled all around, you have named so many planets and items, I would be tired too and call ores something weird or funny just to forget the despair and loneliness and the happiness I felt surrounded by my people.

I appreciate this mod because the original names just break immersion instead of being funny to me. Everyone has a different sense of humor.

I'm with Gee, personally. I've re-localised a number of Stellaris mods, as well, just because I found the insane amount of Star Wars and anime references to be a little too on-the-nose and they ended up taking me way out of the experience.

I can appreciate that there are those whose tastes trend toward irreverence and am glad they have things available, like Rubia, that fit that preference...but mods like Alt Cut here are greatly appreciated by those, like myself, who prefer a more serious and cohesive take on it.

OP adds a "Gamer girl bathwater" item in the game and then proceeds to ask why would people download a mod like this...

Rubia has some interesting mechanics but expecting everyone to just abide by these attempts at humor is strange

OP adds a "Gamer girl bathwater" item in the game and then never proceeds to ask why would people download a mod like this... and then links this mod in his mod's FAQ.

Fixed that for you.

and then links this mod in his mod's FAQ.

Thanks for the plug! I wouldn't mind seeing that mention in the main Information page as well (and perhaps with some more neutral language?) for better visibility, but the shout-out is appreciated nonetheless.

Anyways, it's true that everyone has a different sense of humor; even I find some parts of the original mod to be somewhat amusing, though they don't all fit with my ideal vision of Factorio (hence why this mod was created). No need to call out the original mod author for their sense of humor, when you can just appreciate the fact that an alternative exists. That's just part of the beauty of modding.

So let's not use this thread to bash on the original mod author's vision, which I fully respect, thanks.
