So like previously mentioned, in Space Age the act of sending a pistol "into orbit" as described in the research does not in fact unlock the "Golden Bugstopper" tech, and the "exchange" that used to be possible isn't anymore. Thus the Golden Bugstopper is actually currently

unobtainable

in Space Age.

Considering that you can't get quality pistols without a way to craft them, since they recycle into plates now... I think the Golden Bugstopperss will not in fact be OP in any way compared to quality versions of any other handheld weapons obtainable in Space Age.
And maybe making them take tungsten, holmium (and maybe lithium) for the "hard anodized coating" would balance it cost-wise and kinda makes sense.
