Place the site near resources. When you put mining robots in the robot chest of the mining site, these robots will start mining resources within the construction area of the site. The resource storage on the site works as a passive provider chest, so when the roboport is within a logistic system, logistic robots will pick up resources from the resource chest as long as there is a requester chest somewhere in the logistic system requesting these resources.
