Schmitt | Rich Stone ⛏️🪨

The mod does not change your existing recipes. It just adds some additional recipes. There is a new item 'rich stone'. Rich stone can be crafted out of any ore, but can only be crafted into iron ore (with 8 to 1 conversion rate).

g ❌ Why only iron ore?

Why did you change it so that you can only convert the ores into iron ore?

Because this way you cannot circumvent looking for rare ores. And you cannot circumvent Angel refining methods. Iron ore is normally THE most needed ore and thus this single ore is in focus.

Ok, then I'll stick with the old mods. I already use the stone when sorting or crushing it to make the ore out of it, which I put in it. The only exception to this is actually iron ore. I also make this from copper ore, which comes out as a secondary product.

Which ores do you generate out of the rich stone from https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Ore_Conversion ?

So I make the Rich Stone primarily from stone and also from the secondary ores when sorting. I process the Rich Stone primarily into the respective ores before crushing or into the primary output during sorting. So, for example, I make iron ore from copper ore. Or I make lead ore from nickel ore. But I would also have no problem processing the secondary ores back to the original ore (before crushing). I do it this way so that I don't end up with thousands of ores in chests or so that I don't have to destroy all the unwanted ores.

For example, this is my current setup for steel.

In your screenshot you only create iron ore out of rich stone dont you? This is still possible with my mod.

The idea is: When you can create everything out of everything like in the mod https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Ore_Conversion it could get boring. Thus I only enable iron ore creation. But still the consume of anything so that the mod is still very flexible but not overpowered.

I also produce jivolite ore. (You can see it at the bottom right of the picture.) Would it be possible to produce at least the basic ores again? The ratio wouldn't matter to me either, since I only care about not having to store the resources forever or having to destroy the resources.

Why should you destroy any ore? Convert it to iron ore!

The balancing is perhaps not final yet. I just GUESS it feels good like that. We need more opinions. Visit my discord. There you find other players playing my modpack. Feel free to critize this feature there and get support of the players.
