Recipe Hider
In a big modpack the crafting menu fills up with recipes you'll never hand-craft again. Recipe Hider lets you tidy it up, live, without touching your factory: open the panel (shortcut-bar eye button or Control + Shift + H), click a recipe's icon, and it's gone from the hand-crafting menu. Click again to bring it back. That's the whole mod.
Features
- Crafting-menu-style panel — recipe icons organized behind vanilla-style item-group buttons, in vanilla menu order. Group buttons wrap into rows, so the window stays compact even when a modpack adds dozens of groups.
- Search — a search box filters recipes by name across all groups, matching the translated name in your language.
- Full recipe tooltips — ingredients, products, crafting time, and the recipe's real name in your language, so same-icon variants are easy to tell apart.
- One click to hide, one to restore — hidden recipes stay in the panel, highlighted; Unhide all as an escape hatch. Changes apply instantly, no restart.
- Multiplayer-friendly — the hidden list lives in the save and is shared per force; joining players and open panels stay in sync automatically.
- Hard to knock out of sync — the list is re-asserted after research,
reset_technology_effects(), force merges, and every time the panel opens. - Fast in huge modpacks — only the selected group's grid is built, so the panel opens instantly even with thousands of recipes.
- English and Simplified Chinese (简体中文) locales.
How it works
Hiding sets a recipe to the same state as an un-researched one, for your whole force. Machines already producing it keep running; it just can't be newly assigned while hidden. Nothing is ever deleted — no items, techs, or research progress — so the mod can be added to or removed from any save.
Recipes hidden by other mods at the prototype level don't appear in the panel; they're already invisible and not this mod's business.
Limitations
- Hidden recipes can't be auto-crafted as ingredients. If something you still hand-craft needs a hidden recipe's product, the game won't make it on the fly. Keep such recipes visible.
