I was just thinking to myself now, it would be great if there were filter options or whole new unloaders of these that had filter options but required something more to craft. Would be up to you how you would want to to it. I was thinking these could have a larger filter UI in them then just 1 or 2 slots, probably about the same as a constant combinator just so we have the ability to use them still to unload multiple different items at the same station.

BRLs will not have filters. They are simple gravity feed devices that are already fast, cheap, and compact for what they do. If you need intelligence use inserters. I also suggest making larger stations with one platform per item.
